Juyondai Kuronawa Daiginjo 十四代 黒緤 大哀醉 720mL is a Junmai Daiginjo sake from Takagi Shuzo in Yamagata Prefecture, presented at 720mL. Kuronawa (黒緤, "black rope") is one of Juyondai's most allocated expressions.
From the Producer
Takagi Shuzo, the house behind Juyondai (十四代, "14th generation"), has brewed sake in Yamagata Prefecture since 1615. The brewery is led by a 14th-generation head and is known for fruit-forward, polished Junmai Daiginjo style achieved through careful rice polishing, slow fermentation at low temperatures and soft local water. The Kuronawa expression takes its name from the dark presentation cord tied around the bottle, a nod to the series' premium positioning within the Juyondai line.
Tasting Profile
Appearance — Clear, near-colourless pour typical of a polished Daiginjo.
Nose — Aromatic melon, pear, white peach and gentle floral lift.
Taste — Smooth and layered, with a clean rice-driven core, restrained sweetness and soft umami.
Finish — Long, fragrant and gently dry, with lingering fruit and a clean rice-grain tail.
