Henri Jayer Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux 1998 750mL
Very floral and high-toned fruit trimmed in earth and spice notes and this was a good deal more aromatically expressive than either of the other two wines in the flight. Elegant, racy and beautifully detailed middle weight flavors underpinned by moderately firm tannins and fine length. There is good sap but the tannins dominate the finish and it's not completely clear that this will ever lose its present edginess. If it does, my score will clearly be conservative. Solid if not better.
