From the Producer
E. Guigal was established in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, in the northern Rhône, and has been managed by his son Marcel Guigal since 1961 (Wikipedia, "E. Guigal"). La Landonne is one of Guigal's three flagship single-vineyard Côte-Rôtie wines alongside La Mouline and La Turque, often referred to collectively as "La La's". Guigal's top Côte-Rôtie wines attracted substantial critical attention through the 1980s and the 2003 vintage of the "La La's" was released in 2007 to widespread international coverage. Original wooden cases from this series are collectable presentation pieces in their own right.
Case Note
The case supplied here is empty and contains no liquid. Bottles from the 2003 vintage of Guigal's La Landonne are typically released in 750mL format in this kind of wooden case as part of the producer's original presentation.
