Domaine Georges / Christophe Roumier is widely regarded as one of the benchmark estates of Chambolle-Musigny and the wider Côte de Nuits, with roots going back to the post-phylloxera reconstitution of the Burgundy vignoble. Christophe Roumier now runs the domaine from the family base in Chambolle-Musigny, farming parcels in Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses and Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras, among others. The Roumier style is known for restrained extraction, fine-boned tannins and a transparent, mineral-driven expression of Pinot Noir that ages slowly. Les Cras is one of the recognised Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru climats on the upper slope above the village, valued for its structure and ability to age. The 2005 Burgundy vintage is widely regarded as one of the great modern years, with concentration, freshness and ageing potential.
