Four Roses Distillery, in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, runs an unusually broad production programme built on two mash bills and five proprietary yeast strains that yield ten distinct bourbon recipes. Al Young joined Four Roses in 1967 as a mailroom clerk and rose to become Brand Ambassador, a role he held for decades as the public face of the distillery both in the United States and abroad. The 2017 Al Young 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch blends four recipes — OBSV, OBSK, OBSF and OESV — with bourbon aged between 12 and 23 years, and was bottled uncut and unfiltered at cask strength.
Tasting Notes
