About This Bourbon
For its 2014 Limited Edition Single Barrel, Four Roses bottled 11 year old barrels of the OESF recipe at full strength.
OESF combines the E mash bill (75% corn, 20% rye, 5% malted barley) with the F yeast, which gives herbal, minty notes and a fuller body.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Dark fruit, cinnamon, vanilla and fresh mint.
- Palate: Concentrated and spicy.
- Finish: Structured and lasting, with mint, oak and brown sugar.
Serving & Food
Serve it unchilled, with lamb chops and mint sauce or a pear tart.

Who chose it? Jim Rutledge, before he retired in 2015.
How strong is it? It varies by barrel, mostly in the mid-50s.

About the Distillery
Paul Jones Jr. registered the Four Roses trademark in 1888, and its Lawrenceburg distillery dates from 1910. Kirin bought the company in 2002 and sold it to E. & J. Gallo in April 2026, with Brent Elliott staying on as master distiller.
