Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru 1993, 750mL. A Grand Cru red Burgundy from the domaine's 3.51-hectare Richebourg parcel on the Côte de Nuits. The 1993 red Burgundy vintage produced structured, age-worthy Pinot Noir across the appellation.

About This Wine

Richebourg sits on the Vosne-Romanée slope and produces Pinot Noir of opulence and structure. The 1993 red Burgundy vintage produced structured, age-worthy Pinot Noir across the Côte de Nuits, the kind of vintage that has aged on its balance. As a DRC bottling, the wine carries the domaine's signature precision and the depth that comes from old vines on the Richebourg slope.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Mature red and dark berry fruit with rose petal and a quiet earthy note.
  • Palate: Layered Pinot Noir with fine-grained tannin, mature red fruit and the savoury mid-palate Richebourg is known for.
  • Finish: Sustained and gently savoury, with mature Pinot character.

Serving & Food

Stand the bottle upright for an hour, check the cork and pour into a Burgundy glass at 16 to 17°C; decanting is worthwhile if the cork looks fragile. Pairs well with duck, game or aged Comté.

How to Enjoy

Give it time in the glass and keep the food simple: a simply roasted bird and a soft aged cheese are more than enough.
