The 2000 red Burgundy vintage produced harmonious, ripe Pinot Noir across the Côte de Nuits with the generosity to soften gracefully over the decades.

About the Domaine
Domaine Ponsot was founded in 1872 when William Ponsot returned from the Franco-Prussian War and was given a house and some vineyards in Morey-Saint-Denis by his father. The domaine's flagship Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes is one of Burgundy's reference wines: Ponsot holds about 3 hectares of the original 4 hectares that defined the vineyard before the appellation was expanded, making it the largest single owner in the appellation. The estate farms sustainably across its holdings and is also known for Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos des Monts Luisants, a Premier Cru Burgundy made entirely from Aligoté.
