Dom Pérignon P2 1998 is the second Plénitude (P2) release of the 1998 vintage — the same Dom Pérignon 1998 wine returned to the cellar for extended lees ageing before being disgorged and re-released in this later-evolution format.

Plénitude is Dom Pérignon’s three-stage late-release programme, in which the same vintage wine is returned to the cellar for further lees ageing and disgorged at later intervals. P1 is the standard vintage release after around seven to eight years on lees. P2 (Plénitude Deuxième) is the second release, generally after around fifteen years on lees, when the wine shows more energy, deeper autolytic character and a more pronounced saline finish. P3 (Plénitude Troisième) extends ageing to around thirty years. Each Plénitude bears its own disgorgement and lot information on the back label.

Tasting Profile

• Nose: Toasted brioche, citrus peel, almond, honeyed fruit and chalky mineral.
• Palate: Mature and layered, with preserved orchard fruit, pastry richness, fine mousse and saline mineral drive.
• Finish: Long, bright and mineral, with lingering toast, citrus and saline lift.
