Dom Pérignon is a vintage Champagne brand owned by LVMH, with its first vintage in 1921 and first commercial sale in 1936. All Dom Pérignon is an assemblage of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and the house only declares a vintage in years it considers good enough. The 2008 vintage was the first to be released out of sequence, coming to market after the 2009. Dom Pérignon produces 'Luminous' label versions of its standard bottle, in which the label and shield are printed with photo-luminescent ink so the bottle appears to glow after exposure to light; this magnum format contains the same 2008 vintage wine as the standard release.
