Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang 2005 is a Loire Valley white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc by the late Didier Dagueneau at his estate in Pouilly-sur-Loire, bottled at 750mL. Pur Sang sits as one of the domaine's signature cuvées, named after the single-variety Sauvignon Blanc planted on the siliceous, flint-and-clay soils of the estate's best parcels.

From the Producer

Domaine Didier Dagueneau, based in Saint-Andelain in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation of the upper Loire Valley, was established by Didier Dagueneau and is now run by his children Louis-Benjamin and Charlotte. The estate was a pioneer of late-harvest Sauvignon Blanc and worked the grape with a Burgundian mindset: low yields, hand-harvesting, ageing on the lees in a mix of new and older French oak, and a refusal to bottle until the wine is judged ready. Pur Sang draws from a single parcel of Sauvignon Blanc on flint-and-clay soils and is one of three flagship cuvées alongside Silex and Buisson Renard; Dagueneau's Silex bottlings and his commitment to quality drew international attention to Pouilly-Fumé in the 2000s. The 2005 vintage in the Loire produced concentrated, ageworthy white wines across Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre.
