Dalla Valle Maya 1992 is an Oakville red from the family’s eastern hillside estate. This 750mL bottle contains the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc cuvée named for Maya Dalla Valle.
About This Wine
Maya 1992 brings together Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from Dalla Valle’s Oakville estate. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the block planted in Maya Dalla Valle’s name; the winery does not use an unchanging percentage across vintages.
Tasting Profile
- Profile: violet, cherry, blueberry and cocoa with fine tannins.
Serving & Food
Stand the bottle upright before service, then pour cautiously to leave any sediment behind. Roast lamb or a mushroom ragout suits the wine’s Cabernet-family structure.
How to Enjoy
Set it beside Dalla Valle’s estate Cabernet Sauvignon to explore what Cabernet Franc contributes to Maya. Mature bottles should be assessed individually.

About the Winery
Naoko and Gustav Dalla Valle established their estate on the eastern hillsides of Oakville. The volcanic, iron-rich ground is home to Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Their daughter Maya now works with Naoko at the property. Maya, named for her, combines Cabernet Sauvignon from its eponymous vineyard with Cabernet Franc. The separately labelled estate Cabernet Sauvignon is another wine. On this hillside, sun exposure and cooling breezes both play a part in ripening; the winery treats its wines as expressions of those particular blocks.
