Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. was a Kentucky distilling figure of the late 19th century whose name is associated with several Bourbon innovations, including the use of copper fermenters, column stills and the modern warehouse design. The Colonel E.H. Taylor range is produced by the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, on the same site where Taylor built the O.F.C. / Carlisle distillery in the 1870s. The Straight Rye expression sits in the Taylor line as the rye counterpart to the Small Batch bourbon, bottled at 100 proof.
