Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky traces its whiskey-making lineage to 1773 and is the producer of the Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. line, named for Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr. — the bourbon figure who campaigned for the federal Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 and who rebuilt the distillery complex that stands on the Kentucky River today. The Taylor range is bottled in tribute to that Bottled-in-Bond tradition and draws on the distillery's well-known mash bills. The 18 Year Marriage blends aged stocks from three of those mash bills after 18 years in barrel, then bottles the marriage as one of the limited, allocation-only Taylor releases.
