The IX Estate property is a 125-acre site on Pritchard Hill overlooking Lake Hennessey, of which a 20-acre block was developed for the first IX Estate red and IX Estate Syrah vintages in 2002. The IX Estate red is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend from hillside sites selected for their geology, mid-slope position and cooling airflow. The 2005 vintage in Napa Valley produced ripe, structured Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines that have softened and integrated over two decades of bottle age.
