Château Cheval Blanc 2006 12-Pack Original Wooden Case (OWC) is a twelve-bottle case of the 2006 vintage of Château Cheval Blanc, the Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé "A" estate. The 2006 vintage was fashioned from a cooler, more classical growing season and is held in collector circles for its balance, restrained power and clear Cabernet Franc signature. Bottles are presented in the producer-supplied wooden case, packed in original straw.

From the Producer

Château Cheval Blanc occupies one of the most distinctive terroirs on the Saint-Émilion plateau: a soil of gravel, sand and the unusual deep blue clay that lies beneath much of the vineyard and gives the wines their characteristic freshness and aromatic lift. The estate runs a roughly equal blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot for its grand vin, harvested parcel by parcel and matured in new French oak. The 2006 vintage followed an uneven year — a cool August tested growers' nerves, but September sunshine and meticulous sorting at the chai delivered a Cheval Blanc of finesse and tension. Production of the grand vin that year was notably smaller than usual, which has contributed to its scarcity in the secondary market.
