Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon 2004 1.5L is the flagship red single-vineyard Hermitage from Maison M. Chapoutier, drawn from the Bessards lieu-dit at the eastern end of the Hermitage hill, bottled in a 1.5-litre magnum format.

Maison M. Chapoutier, headquartered at Tain-l'Hermitage, is one of the great historic names of the northern Rhône valley and the largest landowner on the Hermitage hill. Under Michel Chapoutier the domaine has farmed biodynamically since the early 1990s and bottles a single-vineyard range from the Hermitage hill. Le Pavillon is Chapoutier's top red Hermitage cuvée, sourced from old Syrah vines on the Bessards lieu-dit, on the eastern end of the hill where the granite bedrock is most exposed and the soils thinnest. The wine is fermented in concrete and aged in oak, and the 2004 vintage in the northern Rhône is recognised for its balance and structure.
