Cayuse Vineyards was established in 1997 by Christophe Baron, a French-born vigneron who recognised that the rocky, free-draining soils of the Walla Walla Valley in southeastern Washington State resemble those of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Cayuse was an early adopter of biodynamic farming in the Pacific Northwest and holds Demeter certification across its estate blocks. The Bionic Frog Syrah is one of Cayuse's named single-vineyard Syrahs, drawn from a specific block of the Cayuse estate on its stony, basalt-influenced soils, and bottled in small lots with the vineyard name on the label.
