Chevalier-Montrachet sits just above the Montrachet hill on the Puligny-Montrachet side and produces Chardonnay of classic, tightly woven structure. Bouchard's parcel gives a white with the house's recognisable style of fruit held in reserve, lean tension and a long mineral finish. About the Domaine
Bouchard Père & Fils was founded in Beaune in 1731 by the cloth merchant Michel Bouchard and is one of the oldest houses still operating on the Côte d'Or. The house assembled its vineyard holdings across nearly three centuries, including the 0.9-hectare holding in Montrachet acquired in 1838 and a notable parcel in Chevalier-Montrachet, with cellars dug beneath the Château de Beaune, a 15th-century fortress that has been the firm's headquarters since Bernard Bouchard bought it in 1820. Today Bouchard is part of Artémis Domaines, the wine portfolio of the Pinault family, following the 2022 merger with Maisons & Domaines Henriot.
