About This Bourbon
Booker's is drawn from barrels on the middle floors of the rackhouse, where Booker Noe believed the balance of heat and humidity gave the richest flavour. Batch 2015-02E was bottled at 63.7% ABV (127.4 proof) with an age of 7 years, 2 months and 5 days, straight from the barrel with no chill filtration. It uses the standard Beam bourbon mash of corn, rye and malted barley, aged in new charred oak.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Vanilla, baked banana and ripe pear, with milk chocolate, orange and warm oak.
- Palate: Big and concentrated, with pepper and oak up front, then butterscotch, roasted nuts and old leather.
- Finish: Hot and long, with caramelised sugar, charred oak and spice.
Serving & Food
At over 63%, start with a small pour in a Glencairn and add water gradually until the heat settles; one large ice cube is another route. Smoked brisket, peanut brittle or salted dark chocolate stand up to it.

About the Distillery
Booker's is named for Frederick Booker Noe II, grandson of Jim Beam and master distiller at the Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, for more than 40 years. He first bottled uncut, unfiltered bourbon straight from the barrel as holiday gifts for friends, and in 1988 it went on sale as Booker's. Every batch is bottled at its natural barrel proof, so the strength and age change from release to release and are printed on the label. Today his son Fred Noe and grandson Freddie Noe carry on the line at the James B. Beam Distilling Co.
