From the Producer

The Balvenie is a Speyside single malt distillery in Dufftown, founded by William Grant in 1892 and still owned by William Grant & Sons. The distillery maintains traditional practices including its own floor maltings and on-site coppersmiths, and a dedicated team of coopers maintains and rebuilds casks. The 17 Year Sherry Oak expression is matured for 17 years in casks that have previously held Oloroso sherry, an established Solera-style sherry from Jerez, producing a richer, darker, more dried-fruit profile than the distillery’s bourbon-cask bottlings.
