Aurélien Verdet Gevrey-Chambertin 2018 is a village Burgundy that offers Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir character without the Grand Cru entry price of the region’s headline names. It is a good fit for buyers who want classic Gevrey depth and food-friendly structure.
From the Producer
Domaine Aurélien Verdet is a small Burgundy estate based in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, run by Aurélien Verdet, who took over family vines and has built a tight range of Pinot Noir from both the Hautes-Côtes and the Côte de Nuits villages including Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis. Farming is organic and biodynamic, with low yields, whole-cluster fermentation and minimal new oak, producing wines that are fragrant, energetic and built for ageing. This village Gevrey-Chambertin is sourced from established growers Verdet works with, vinified in the same restrained style as his own-vineyard cuvées.
