Auchentoshan is the only active single malt distillery in Scotland that triple-distills its entire production, a method more associated with Irish whiskey, producing a lighter, smoother spirit than the typical double-distilled Scottish house style. The distillery sits on the outskirts of Glasgow in the Lowlands and has been in continuous operation since 1823. The 18 Year expression is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak casks and Spanish oloroso sherry oak, layering bourbon sweetness and sherry nuttiness over the distillery’s signature soft, elegant malt character.
