About This Wine
Au Sommet 2019 is Heidi Barrett's mountain Cabernet Sauvignon from the top of Atlas Peak.
The vineyard sits at around 640 metres, above the valley fog, and the wine is Cabernet Sauvignon with a little Petit Verdot.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Blackcurrant and black cherry, with gravel, graphite and savoury herbs.
- Palate: Full and dense, with ripe fruit, cocoa and firm but polished mountain tannins.
- Finish: Long, with menthol, chocolate and a mineral edge.
Serving & Food
Decant it for about two hours and serve at 17°C with a dry-aged porterhouse or lamb rack.

John Schwartz owns Au Sommet, a 45-acre property at the top of Atlas Peak in Napa's Vaca Mountains. Heidi Barrett, winemaker at Screaming Eagle from 1992 to 2006, has made the wine since the first vintage in 2008.
