Au Sommet 2014 is a 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from Atlas Peak, Napa Valley, made by Au Sommet. The named vineyard and vintage identify this bottling.
About This Wine
The 2014 combines generous fruit with a more lifted frame. Its herbal, cedar-edged character offers a useful contrast to the richer surrounding vintages.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Blackberry, cedar and dried herbs.
- Palate: Dark fruit carried by fine-grained tannins.
- Finish: Menthol and tobacco at the close.
Serving & Food
Serve slightly below room temperature with slow-cooked lamb. Its richness can stand beside the Atlas Peak tannins; leave very sweet sauces aside. Open mature bottles with care and taste before extended aeration.
How to Enjoy
Enjoy with a savoury meal, allowing the structure to settle in the glass. Store any unopened bottle cool and away from light.

About the Winery
Au Sommet is the Atlas Peak project of Heidi Peterson Barrett, John Schwartz and Jim Barbour. Its vineyard sits high above the Napa Valley floor in the eastern hills. The estate grows Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot, making a mountain red whose structure comes from site as well as variety. Barrett’s work in the cellar aims to retain the vineyard’s fruit while bringing the firm tannins into balance. The producer’s vintage archive records how those elements change from year to year, from the herbal lift of the earlier releases to darker-fruited, more firmly built seasons.
