Armand de Brignac is produced by Champagne Cattier, a family-owned Champagne house based in Chigny-les-Roses in the Montagne de Reims. The Cattier family has farmed vineyards in the Montagne de Reims since 1763, and the Armand de Brignac prestige range was launched in the mid-2000s. Each cuvée in the range is identified by the colour of its metallic-finished bottle: the Brut Gold (yellow), Rosé (pink), Blanc de Blancs (white), Demi Sec (silver/green) and the older-vintage Blanc de Noirs, which are the rarer expressions. The brand gained wider visibility through its association with Shawn Carter, who publicly became an investor in the brand in 2014.

The Blanc de Blancs cuvée is made entirely from Chardonnay, drawn from multiple Chardonnay-growing communes across Champagne and aged on its lees in the Cattier cellars in Chigny-les-Roses.
