G Acte 2 2010 is the second release in the Guinaudeau family's numbered Acte series, an experimental Bordeaux Supérieur from limestone parcels around their home estate near Fronsac, made by the team behind Château Lafleur in Pomerol. This is a magnum, now mature.
About This Wine
Acte 2 is a small cuvée of about 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc from limestone-rich plots at Grand Village, sold as Bordeaux Supérieur. 2010 was a dry, warm and very concentrated vintage across Bordeaux. On release the wine was noted for its freshness, plum and black cherry fruit, and an easy, medium-bodied style. At around 16 years old in magnum it should now show savoury, earthy development while the larger bottle keeps it fresh.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Plum, black cherry, liquorice, truffle and a light camphor note
- Palate: Medium-bodied and round, with ripe red and black fruit, earthy detail and soft, settled tannins
- Finish: Fresh and savoury, with black cherry, a little oak spice and a limestone-like lift
Serving & Food
Let the sediment settle, then give the magnum about an hour in a decanter and pour at 16 to 17°C. Drink now and over the next few years. Serve with roast duck, beef bourguignon or mushroom risotto for a table of eight to ten.

About the Château
The Guinaudeaus have lived at Château Grand Village, in Mouillac just north of Fronsac, since the 17th century. Jacques and Sylvie Guinaudeau took charge of Château Lafleur in Pomerol in the 1980s and built its reputation into the front rank of Pomerol; their son Baptiste and his wife Julie now work alongside them.
From 2009 to 2017 the family bottled a numbered series, Acte 1, Acte 2 and so on, to test how Lafleur-style Merlot and Cabernet Franc behaved on limestone. The labels were designed by Jacques himself and changed every year. The project led directly to Les Perrières de Lafleur, first released from the 2018 vintage.
