From the Producer
Mature Springbank exists in small quantities because the Campbeltown distillery was silent for much of the 1980s, having stopped distilling in 1979 and returned to full production in 1987. J. & A. Mitchell & Co., the family firm that has held the licence since 1828, still malts its own barley on floor maltings, distils two and a half times, matures on site and bottles in its own hall, with no chill-filtration and no added colour. The 25 Year is not a standing product but an occasional release issued in limited annual batches, drawn from the distillery's oldest available casks and bottled at 46% ABV. This is the 2022 release.
