From the Producer

Springbank is distilled by J. & A. Mitchell & Co. in Campbeltown, a family firm that has held the licence since 1828 and is now run by the fifth generation of the same family. The distillery floor-malts all of its own barley and carries out malting, distillation, maturation and bottling on a single site, which almost no other Scotch producer still does. The Springbank make itself is distilled two and a half times, lightly peated, and bottled without chill-filtration or added colour. The Local Barley series revives a 1960s practice of using barley grown on farms in Kintyre and nearby Scotland, and each edition is tied to a named crop and harvest year rather than to a standing recipe. This bottling carries the 10-year age statement and the 2021 release reference, at cask strength.
