Yamazaki 25 Year is the oldest core-range expression from Yamazaki Distillery, Japan's first malt whisky distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture. Like the rest of the Yamazaki range it is matured across American, Spanish and Japanese Mizunara oak, with Mizunara giving its incense and sandalwood character alongside the depth built by sherry-cask maturation. Yamazaki 25 Year was named Best Japanese Single Malt at the 2013 World Whisky Awards.
