From the Producer
Chichibu distillery sits in the mountain town of Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, and was founded by Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the master distiller of the now-closed Hanyu distillery. Distilling began in 2008 on a small scale with on-site floor maltings and a wide variety of cask types. The distillery works with leading specialist retailers worldwide on anniversary and single-cask releases; this bottle is Chichibu's allocation to The Whisky Exchange for its 20th-anniversary programme.
