About the Distillery

Buffalo Trace's rye-recipe bourbon is sold under many names, including Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Stagg and E.H. Taylor, Jr. When the distillery launched Weller Single Barrel in 2020 at 97 proof, its bourbon marketing manager said it was good to offer some of that variety on the wheated side too.

Its barrel-selection programme lets shops and bars taste samples and choose a whole barrel of Weller for themselves. Full Proof single barrels come from that programme and are bottled at 114 proof. The labels usually name the store or group that picked the barrel.
