About the Distillery
Very Olde St. Nick has had two quite different phases. From its start in the mid-1980s until about 2005, it was an export brand whose bottlings went mainly to Japan, where customers wanted age statements and old stock. Around 2015 the label started to appear in the United States in small numbered lots, and it has built a following among American bourbon drinkers since then.
Some names carry over between the two phases. Ancient Cask Lot No. 15 at 107 proof was among the early Japanese bottlings, and a silver-wax Ancient Cask Lot 15 at the same proof was released again in 2015.
