The third lot of Very Olde St. Nick's 12 Year Antique Barrel bourbon, released in 2020 and bottled at 90.2 proof. The brand is now based at Preservation Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky.
About This Bourbon
Lot #03 keeps the age and strength of the earlier lots, twelve years at 90.2 proof (45.1% ABV), and carries the same gold wax. Each lot is a separate small bottling, so collectors track them by number. Retailers describe the Antique Barrel as dark fruit, caramel, oak and spice, and this lot sits in that familiar style.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Caramel, dried fruit, old oak and soft spice.
- Palate: Rounded and mature, with toffee, vanilla, dark cherry and wood spice.
- Finish: Long and warming, with oak, pepper and gentle sweetness.
Serving & Food
Enjoy it neat, or with a splash of chilled soda water as a long highball on a humid Hong Kong evening. At the table it matches char siu, smoked duck salad, or bread pudding with bourbon sauce.
How to Enjoy
Completing a run of the three Antique Barrel lots, or a steady, mature bourbon for regular sipping.

About the Distillery
Preservation Distillery stands on a former 40-acre tobacco farm outside Bardstown, Kentucky, the town that calls itself the Bourbon Capital of the World. It was founded in 2015 by the family behind Very Olde St. Nick, and it runs pot stills on a very small scale.
Bottling of the St. Nick range moved there, and the site also releases Rare Perfection and Wattie Boone & Sons. Over time the plan is for the farm's own distillate to go into the bottles alongside older sourced barrels.
