A Springbank bottled by the distillery in 2006 to mark the centenary of Campbeltown Bowling Club, founded in 1906. It was bottled at 46% ABV, and only 100 bottles were filled.
About This Whisky
This bottling was made for Campbeltown Bowling Club to celebrate its hundredth year, 1906 to 2006. The distillery bottled it in 2006 at 46% ABV from oak casks, and the edition was limited to 100 bottles. Like all Springbank, it was bottled on site without chill filtration or added colour. No age statement or cask number appears on the label.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Honeyed malt, citrus peel and pear, with a salty breeze and a hint of peat.
- Palate: Medium-bodied and oily, with barley sugar, vanilla, ginger and a savoury, coastal edge.
- Finish: Medium-long, with brine, light smoke and dry malt.
Serving & Food
Serve it neat, or loosened with a little water, in a small tumbler, the way a club dram is usually poured. It sits nicely beside a steak pie, Scotch broth, or oatcakes with a sharp Cheddar.
How to Enjoy
Campbeltown natives and lawn bowlers, and anyone who enjoys the local-history side of Springbank.

About the Distillery
Springbank is woven into life in Campbeltown. It is one of three working distilleries left in a town that once had more than thirty, and J&A Mitchell owns two of them, Springbank and Glengyle. The distillery is also a large local employer, with a workforce big enough to keep the malting floors, stills and bottling line staffed by hand. Local clubs and events have long been marked with special Springbank labels, and this bowling club centenary is one of them.
